Jeff Scherer
Jeff Scherer is a writer and performer from Rochester,
NY and Wilmington, DE, among other places. He studied
Writing for TV, Film & Radio at Syracuse University,
and has been performing at the UCB Theater since
Spring of 2002. He's written four screenplays, of
which SKELETONS was a semi-finalist both at the Austin
Film Festival and for Project Greenlight 2. He
cofounded the theatrical group Toolbox Productions and
put up two productions at the NY International Fringe
Festival: ST. ROSITA & THE FRANCOPHONE (co-written
with Jeremy Carr), and PIPE BOMB SONATA, in which he
played several roles (and shared the theater with
Urinetown). UCB credits include THE DOCUMENTARY, ANDY
ROCCO'S HAPPY LIFE, PAJAMA PARTY IN "THE SLEEPOVER,"
THE HOLIDAY SPECTACULAR, CAFE VERGE and THE LOCALS IN
"A REAL PIECE OF WORK," for which he wrote many of the
sketches. On television, he has already been typecast
as an "underachieving contestant," playing them on
both JEOPARDY! and PROJECT GREENLIGHT, but broke type
to appear in the TBS show CUT TO THE CHASE. He
currently performs with Stomping Ground, several
musical improv shows and the Chicago City Limits
touring company.
