Scot Armstrong

Current Shows

As a screenwriter, Armstrong is credited on THE HANGOVER PART II, OLD SCHOOL, ROAD TRIP, SCHOOL FOR SCOUNDRELS, STARSKY & HUTCH, HEARTBREAK KID and SEMI PRO. He did uncredited work on ELF and BAD SANTA. In the fall of 2011 he is directing the comedy ROAD TO NARDO for Sony.

Armstrong and business partner Ravi Nandan run the production company American Work Inc., developing movies for Paramount, New Line, Warner Brothers and Summit. They produced the independent dramatic comedy HESHER and are slated to shoot the Demetri Martin scripted WILL in 2012. Upcoming projects include WE'VE GOT YOUR GIRLFRIEND, THE COWARD and FIRED AND EXPELLED.

For television, the company has a first look deal with NBC Universal. They produced the pilot OFF DUTY. Their show BFF was picked up as a mid-season replacement and begins shooting in the fall 2011, starring Lennon Parham and Jessica St. Clair.

Originally from Chicago, Armstrong studied improvisational comedy under Del Close at the Improv Olympic, trained at the Second City and has been with the Upright Citizens Brigade Theater since its inception. At UCB NYC he performed in FEATURE FEATURE, ASSSSCAT and MOTHER. For the stage, he directed NAKED BABIES and SECRET SLUT. Now at UCBTLA, he's performed in THE SOUNDTRACK for 3 years.

Scot lives with his wife Kerry and his children Lake and Charlie along with their dogs Dewie and Louise in the Los Feliz neighborhood of LA.
