Paul Welsh

Paul Welsh is an actor, improviser and writer originally from Connecticut, who has been performing at UCB since 2008. Paul can currently be seen performing with the Harold team Grandma's Ashes and in the solo show Men In Paintings: A Night in the Crisp Family Hall of Portraits (which he also wrote, and is directed by Shannon O'Neill). He previously performed with the Harold team Monstro and as an unhappy agent in the NYPD Sit Down & Shut Up Variety Hour. Before that, Paul was one of the creators and founding members of UCBT's long running improvised soap opera, As The Diamond Burns. He has also appeared on the UCBT stage in Cinnabonanza, In a World, and One Night Stand.

He began studying improv in 2006 at the UCB, and since that time has studied under comedy luminaries Zach Woods, Joe Wengert, Chris Gethard, Anthony King, Charlie Todd, Will Hines and Shannon O'Neill. Before that, he studied political science and Italian at Georgetown University.

Paul once lived above a pig farm on the outskirts of Mexico City, has gone temporarily blind in one eye, and has difficulty reaching his temperature happy medium.
