David Segal
David Segal has studied at the UCB since 2003. He is best known as a member of the sketch group Olde English where he has written, directed, and starred in countless videos since the group's inception in 2002. He has performed with them at HBO's US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen, three San Francisco Sketchfests, and at Very Fresh, their monthly variety show of all-new material at the UCB in New York. His video work with the group has gained wide exposure both online and off, most notably with the breakout hit, "Ben takes a photo of himself everyday", which he co-wrote. The video has had over 2.5 million views on YouTube, was aired on Good Morning America, and was featured in a Mountain Dew commercial. In 2007, he co-wrote and starred in "Free NYC", Olde English's protest video targeting proposed regulations that would have severely limited the rights of filmmakers and photographers in New York City. The video gained wide acclaim thanks to the New York Civil Liberties Union and an article in the New York Times, and ultimately the regulations were dropped. David can currently be found with the rest of Olde English making videos for SuperDeluxe. He resides in Brooklyn, NY, where he ponders where in his bio he should mention that he graduated from Bard College in 2005.
