Ian Roberts

Current Shows

Ian Roberts grew up in Secaucus, NJ, and attended Grinnell College in Grinnell, Iowa, where he received a bachelor's degree in theater. After college, Roberts moved to Chicago where he studied improvisation with Del Close and performed at Improv Olympic and Second City. Ian is a founding member of the Upright Citizens Brigade (UCB), a sketch comedy group whose eponymous show ran for three seasons on Comedy Central in the late '90s. Roberts and the other members of the UCB currently operate theaters in New York City and Los Angeles that have become the premier venues for alternative comedy on the two coasts.

Roberts film credits include “Step Brothers, “Reno 911!: Miami,” “Talladega Nights,” “Anchorman” and “Bring it On.”. His television credits include guest roles on “Arrested Development” and Comedy Central’s "Upright Citizens Brigade” and “Reno 911!.”

In addition to a successful acting career, Ian and his writting partner Jay Martel have written “Talladega Nights,” “Dad Can’t Lose,” which is in development at Paramount and “Me Time,” also in development at 20th Century Fox.
