Jeff Wiens
Jeff Wiens is a writer-actor-director based in New York and one half of comedy duo, Franco and Billy. He and the other half, Peter Blomquist, wrote, directed and starred in the critically acclaimed IFC web series, Get Hit, which The Hollywood Reporter named one of the ten webisodes of 2008 worth watching. The NY Times said of the series: "The comedy duo of Peter Blomquist and Jeff Wiens bring a surprising level of commitment to their video-geek roles and it is endearing somehow to watch this sort of sophomorically funny material done without the winking condescension it usually receives." Episodes of Hit have been featured on The Independent Film Channel, Direct TV’s Channel 101 and Pitchfork.com.
Their live spectacle, The Franco & Billy Show ran at UCB in 2007 and was part of UCB’s Longest Sketch Show Ever. Wiens’ television and film appearances include roles on ABC’s Life on Mars, VH1’s I Hate My 30s, George Lucas In Love, Fame L.A. and Shopnation (w/Tim Conway). He has performed in Off Broadway and regional theatres including Soho Rep, MCC, The Mark Taper Forum, Actors Theatre of Louisville, The Utah Shakespearean Festival, Indiana & Syracuse Reps, and won a Dramalogue Award for his performance in the west coast premiere of Suburbia at The Actors Gang in L.A.
