Michael Patrick O'Brien: SHATTER
A one man show written and performed by Michael Patrick O'Brien (writer, SNL). O’Brien begins this one man show by attempting to shatter a randomly selected Guinness World Record, using only a small bag of props and the advice of audience members. The rest of the show is filled with short looks at characters who are both familiar and bizarre. The show ends with a surprise twist that can only be caught along the way if you really listen to every word.
MICHAEL PATRICK O'BRIEN has been living in NYC and writing for Saturday Night Live since August 2009. Before that, he performed and directed improv and sketch comedy in Chicago for a decade. Most recently, he was a member of the Second City Mainstage. In 2007, he performed in the Aspen Comedy Festival with Peter Grosz in a show entitled, Misled. For the past 8 years he's also been proud to be a member of the venerable improv team, The Reckoning.
"O’Brien has a canny way of playing his intelligence and observational skills against his low-grade skittishness and apparent innocence. The result is an inspired sort of looniness."
