Formed in Santa Cruz, California in late 2003, Prank the Dean are the hottest young sketch group in California. The group performs fun, profane, intelligent comedy, with the occasional donut-and-hot-dog joke. In their short lifespan, they've performed all over the Bay Area, from Cobb's Comedy Club to the San Francisco Sketchfest, and all over the West Coast, from the UCB Theater in Los Angeles to Seattle's Sketchfest.

The Stanford Daily described Prank as "hilarious from the get-go," and they've received raves in the San Jose Mercury-News and Oakland Tribune. Cole Stratton, co-founder of the San Francisco Sketchfest told the Merc: "At first glance, they seem to have that college kind of frat humor, but what makes them good is that they're clever. They're good at mixing that laugh-out-loud stuff with things that are a little more subtle."
