From Franklinton, Louisiana, Amber Sophia Nelson is an actor and writer in New York. She first started improvising in Louisiana dive bars and coffee shops with her incredible short form groups: Family Dinner and Nut Punch.

She is an actress on the Maude team Gorilla Gorilla , where she has been directed under Jodi Lennon and Eric Drysdale. Amber writes and performs sketch and improv comedy with The Basement and Kape. Kape has been featured on Atom.com and The CW. She performs standup all over New York City and regularly hosts shows. She also has a passion for storytelling and enjoys performing at The Moth. In 2010, Amber appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

She is currently working on a one-woman show with balloons and trash.
