Steven Slate
Steven Slate performs long-form improv all over NYC. He created and performed in the show TRUE HOLLYWOOD STORIES with BIG TOBACCO and Director Bobby Moynihan at the UCB. With DEATH LEAGUE TEA PARTY he brought the one-act monoscene show ONE LUMP OR TWO to amazed audiences at the New York Frigid Fest under director Neil Casey. He was a regular performer in CRACKED OUT, and is a producer/writer/performer in ANDY ROCCO'S HIPSTER SHOW. Some other notable appearances are UCB's ONE NIGHT STAND, and THE NIGHTS OF OUR LIVES (a Time Out NY critics pick).
Steven has produced, written, shot, appeared in, and directed many web videos for various sites, and professionally for other sites that are awesome, but not as awesome as UCBcomedy.com. He's appeared in a few commercials, and a few episodes of adult swim's FAT GUY STUCK IN INTERNET playing various absurd internet inhabitants. He also worked in production for Fat Guy where he puppetteered a bearded clam and an anthropomorphic piece of shit.
Steven has been a dj for more than 15 years specializing in spinning Hip-hop and drum and bass. But now that there isn't ten million raves every weekend he spins a wider range of party music (although he really loves Bmore stuff right now). His scratching hasn't progressed past the level of that heard on Eric B for President! But he's really great at mixing.
In comedy, he's trained under many of whom he considers to be the funniest people around- Jackie Clarke, Neil Casey, Armando Diaz, Chris Gethard, Curtis Gwinn, Rachel Hamilton, Billy Merritt, Bobby Moynihan, Charlie Todd, and more. He thanks these and others in the improv community for being so supportive.
