Achilles Stamatelaky

Achilles Stamatelaky is a writer, performer, and sometime director in New York City. Born in The Philippines, he moved to New York City with his family in 1991 and later attended Regis High School. He briefly attended Fordham University, where he wrote and directed a sketch show. Achilles has been studying and performing at the UCB Theater since January 2005. Past instructors include: James Eason, Seth Morris, Peter Gwinn, Charlie Sanders, Joe Wengert, Brian Huskey, Michael Delaney, Billy Merritt, Charlie Todd, Chris Gethard, and Anthony King, among many others. He has also studied independently with Christina Gausas and at The Magnet Theater with Armando Diaz. He is a member of the independent groups The Fist Kisses and Kid Dervin. Achilles has performed at many venues across the city including The Magnet Theater, The People's Improv Theater, Gotham City Improv, Under St. Marks, The Abingdon Theater, and The Gene Frankel Theater. Achilles also does tech for improv shows all over the city and was a cast member of the UCB show "One Night Stand." He is currently a member of the Harold Team T.R.U.C.K.S. He lives in Staten Island.
