The Rejection Show
Join host Jon Friedman as The Rejection Show returns to The Upright Citizens Brigade Theater (now in its 10th season)! The Rejection Show, one of NYC's longest running comedy variety shows embraces the rejected and "turned down" material of writers, comedians, cartoonists, artists, and other artistic types whom display their creative and personal "failures" live on stage. This celebratory season will feature "Best Of" segments, favorite past performers and themes, and brand new segments, guests and surprises!
Hosted by Jon Friedman
Featuring the REJECTED material of:
Nick Turner (Late Night with Jimmy Fallon)
Dan St. Germain (Late Night with Jimmy Fallon)
Giulia Rozzi (Comedy Central)
Dan Wilbur (How Not to Read)
Plus live music from The Rejection Show House Band: The Uh-Oh's! featuring members from Stuckey & Murray and The Defibulators!
The Rejection Show book, Rejected: Tales of the Failed Dumped and Canceled is in stores now! Featured on The Today Show, The Dennis Miller Show, Oprah Magazine, The Sound of Young America and more!
Hooray for failure!
REJECTION SHOW PRESS QUOTES
"On the surface, The Rejection Show is a mere demonstration of unsuccessful work by usually successful comedians, writers, filmmakers, and cartoonists. Deep down, though, it provides an interesting look into the thought processes of magazine editors, network executives, and others who wield power." –THE ONION
"For most people, rejection means a bottle of Jack and a pint of Ben & Jerry's. But for one comedic genius, rejection has meant a cult hit show, national recognition, and now --a book deal? "Rejected" author Jon Friedman first gave life to The Rejection Show after he found himself passed over for a job at Comedy Central and, worse, dumped. Since then the invariably hilarious lineup of rejected New Yorker comics, Late Show sketches, and dismissive childhood sweethearts has featured a variety of New York personalities. Check out the failures and the mayhem if you are sucker for bloopers and outtakes, or just revel in others' disappointments." -NEW YORK MAGAZINE
