March 24, 2008, 2:26 pm - [ Category: NY General ]
The New York Television Festival is proud to announce that it is now accepting submissions to the fourth annual Independent Pilot Competition.
The NYTVF, held each fall in Midtown Manhattan, is the first-ever independent television showcase, giving independent television producers and creators the opportunity to present their work directly to executives at broadcast networks, cable networks, and online content providers. The 2008 NYTVF will be held September 12-17.
Official Selections to the 2007 Independent Pilot Competition were screened directly for development execs, agents, and producers throughout the TV industry. Official Selections from the NYTVF have gotten deals with NBC, A&E, FOX, and VERSUS, as well as representation with the William Morris Agency and CAA. Our top entrants have the opportunity to win fellowships with some of the biggest producers in TV, such as Tom Fontana, Michael Davies, Mitchell Hurwitz, and Phil Rosenthal. They also have a chance to win cash prizes, development deals, and recognition unmatched anywhere else.
Entries between 5 and 22 minutes are accepted. Preference is given to pieces that were conceived as, or could be adapted to, a serialized format. All genres are welcome. For more information, please visit www.nytvf.com or send an email to submissions08@nytvf.com.
