Improv 202 — Advanced Game Study

Thursdays 7-10pm starting Apr 03, 2008
Prerequisites: Completion of Improv 201
Cost: $175

This course offers students a chance to further focus in the concept of “The Game.” Students are given more individual attention and critiques regarding their own personal ability in finding the game, and their style of heightening games once they find them.

This course is open to anyone who has completed Improvisation 201. It is also highly recommended for upper level students who want to strengthen their ability at this vital skill.

This course meets for four sessions, three hours each session.

Improv 202 - Advanced Game Study

This course offers students the chance to continue their study of finding the game, playing the game, and heightening the game in second beats. Students will have the opportunity to do a lot of two-person scenes and receive direct notes about making their gameplay stronger.

Prerequisite:Completion of Improv 201

Maximum class size is 14.

Joe Wengert

Joe Wengert has been improvising for over ten years. After performing as a founding member of the first improv troupe at the University of Delaware, he came to New York City and studied at the UCB Training Center under Michael Delaney, Armando Diaz, Kevin Mullaney, Billy Merritt, Matt Besser, Ian Roberts, Matt Walsh, and many others. He has been a regular performer at the UCB Theatre since 2002 in shows such as Game Face, Your Favorite Thing, the Dark Side of the Moon Show, Krompf, Instant Cinema, Dillinger, and more. He can currently be seen performing every Saturday night at the UCBT with house team Reuben Williams. He has also performed at improv festivals in Chicago and Toronto, and he currently tours the country with the UCB Touring Company. He has appeared on VH1 and in national commercials. He is currently a writer for the Onion News Network.
